It is a form of therapeutic massage that has become increasingly popular in recent years. Deep tissue massage is a technique designed to penetrate the tissue structures deeper in the muscles and fascia, also called connective tissue. Uses many of the movements of the therapy, although the pressure is usually more intense.
It's more focused to release muscle tension or knots (also known as “adhesions”). The therapy of deep tissue massage is similar to Swedish massage, but the pressure, to be more profound, it is more beneficial to release the muscle tension. The focus is on
the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints).
Deep tissue massage is primarily used to treat problems neuromusculoskeletal, such as strains and sports injuries.
